I'm Denae, a Registered Massage Therapist, Craniosacral Therapist, and Reiki Energy Practitioner, in Guelph, Ontario, practicing since 2006. I provide my services in a bright, warm space, that is safe and inclusive. I am an ally to the LGBTQIA2+ community, fat-friendly, body positive, and I welcome everyBODY.
I have built a reputation for my ability to effectively treat my clients’ impairments with techniques that feel gentle and relaxing. I offer traditional Swedish massage, fascial release techniques, and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, all of which I incorporate into treatments for general relaxation, relief of muscle tension and pain, headaches, TMJ/jaw dysfunction, injury prevention and management, and prenatal/post partum care.
I graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Sir Sanford Fleming College in 2006, and began my career working in acute rehab and injury management, mainly treating victims of car accidents and workplace injures, which helped me hone my therapeutic skills. After about 5 years, I decided that I needed to re-focus my practice, and moved into a setting where I could practice injury prevention and maintenance of good health. I am also trained in Cupping Therapy, and Aromatouch™ treatment.
I have been working and living in Guelph since 2010, with my husband and two daughters, and can often be found exploring the trails of Preservation Park during my downtime.

SERVICES
MASSAGE THERAPY (INCLUDING CUPPING MASSAGE)
Traditional Massage Therapy treatment involving Swedish, fascial, and deep tissue techniques, as well as Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, cupping and "spot Reiki", as appropriate. Ideal treatment to relieve muscle tension, stress, headaches, orthopedic conditions, and general body pain/discomfort.

BIODYNAMIC CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY
A non-invasive therapy using a series of static holds on the head, face spine, joints, and abdomen. Contact with these points encourages the body to "switch off" the sympathetic nervous system (fight-or-flight), and "switch on" the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest), which promotes the body's ability to naturally heal and restore itself, reducing feelings of stress or anxiety.
Appropriate for all ages. Ideal treatment for concussion and brain injury (with clearance from their healthcare provider), TMJ dysfunction, headaches/migraines, sinus/head congestion, and mental or emotional confusion ("brain fog").

REIKI
A relaxing, non manipulative treatment, promoting the flow of healing energy through the Meridians and Chakras of the body, which can increase circulation, and release emotional and energetic blockages, promoting the body's ability to heal itself.

An aromatic application of a specific series of essential oils, and sequence of techniques on the back and feet, engaging several systems of the body, and inducing deep calm and relaxation, followed by a massage therapy treatment.

Policies
Inclusivity:
BODY SIZE INCLUSIVE
I use an extra wide hydraulic table with a high weight capacity (500lb). My linens are also extra wide to maintain coverage and privacy. I have a wide armchair, with the option of an armless chair, if preferred.
I am actively anti-diet culture and will not make recommendations on nutriton or exercise for weight-loss. I am body neutral, and make no judgements about bodies. I will only comment on a client's body as it pertains to the treatment.
LGBTQIA2+
I am an ally to the queer community and all folx are welcome and safe in my space. I strive to provide the best in gender-affirming care and preferred pronouns will be respected.
ACCESSIBLITY
I am on the second floor of a medical building with an elevator and accessible bathroom available.
Due to the size and layout of my treatment room, I am unable to accommodate large mobility devices (ie. mobility scooter, power wheelchair).
Clients must be able to undress/dress independently (if they choose to), and get on and off the table, as I am unable to assist with these tasks.
Cancellation Policy:
I require 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment, in order to have adequate time to fill it.
Appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours notice, but more than 24 hours notice will be charged 50% of the appointment fee.
Appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice or no notice (“no show”) will be charged the full fee of the scheduled appointment.
**Cancellation fees must be paid prior to scheduling another appointment.**
I simply ask that people respect my time, and, in turn, I will respect their time.
*I understand situations arise where adequate notice to cancel cannot be given, and in those cases, exceptions may be made at my discretion.
